Care Guide

Caring for your silks

Your scrunchie is made from pure silk, a natural fibre that is soft on your hair but delicate. With a little care it will stay smooth and keep its shape and colour for a long time.

Wearing

  • Put it on and take it off gently. Don’t stretch it further than you need to, because overstretching can weaken the elastic and the seams.
  • Avoid wearing it on wet hair. Moisture combined with tension can mark the silk and wear out the elastic faster.
  • Keep it away from jewellery, hair clips, velcro, rough nails and other sharp edges, which can catch the fibres and cause pulls.
  • Put your scrunchie on after you’ve applied perfume, hairspray, oils or other products. These can stain or discolour silk.

Washing

  • Only wash when needed. Usually airing it out is enough.
  • Hand wash gently in cold water with a mild, silk-approved detergent. Never use regular detergent, bleach or fabric softener.
  • Don’t soak, wring, twist or rub the silk. This can damage the fibres and make the colour fade or bleed.
  • Never put it in the washing machine or tumble dryer.

Drying

  • Press out excess water by rolling it gently in a clean towel.
  • Lay it flat to dry naturally, away from direct sunlight and heat sources such as radiators.

Ironing

  • If needed, use a steamer at a safe distance, or iron on the lowest setting on the reverse side with a cloth between the iron and the silk.

Storing

  • Keep your scrunchie in the dust bag it came in, somewhere cool, dry and out of direct sunlight.

Good to know
Silk is a natural material, so small variations in texture, sheen and colour are part of its character and are not defects. Pulls, colour changes or stretching caused by wear, incorrect washing or not following these care instructions are not covered as product faults.
